Bringing the romance to an intimate rooftop affair

This duo met at a Valentine's party in Las Vegas on Feb 12, 2012, leading them to joke, “What happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay in Vegas!” At the time, Iris was living in California, and Claudia had just arrived in the U.S. for a new work venture. They met through mutual friends and soon launched into a (long-distance) relationship, during which they were lucky enough to see each other daily due to staggered work schedules. They say Santa Barbara—their home—is a dream location for any wedding, and the Kimpton Canary Hotel holds a special place in their hearts.

This intimate wedding of 23 people (plus Dog of Honor Scaia) took place on the Kimpton Canary's sun-kissed rooftop. Guests were greeted with a glass of rose; the wedding party entered to “Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. Claudia's mom walked her down the aisle, and the couple’s dear friend Leigh "sealed the deal," before the newlyweds exited to Stevie Wonder’s "Signed, Sealed, Delivered."

"We began our ceremony overlooking the hills of Santa Barbara and ended the night dancing under the stars."

The wedding was a haze for the couple, who joyfully floated on cloud nine.

Claudia wore a gorgeous Oscar de Ia Renta gown; Iris donned a Loro Piana charcoal suit. Flowers featured Ute's (Claudia's mom) favorite snapdragons and Claudia's favorite—jasmine. Other personal touches included signature drinks (Iris's Whiskey Sour and Claudia's Lemon Drop), spectacular food, and speeches by the maid of honor, best woman and Claudia's brother.
