From a blind date to fully-seen love

A blind date set up by a mutual friend led to a beautiful rooftop celebration at our Santa Barbara haven. Darcie craved a destination wedding and Vince wanted to stay local, so the Camarillo, California-based pair landed on our venue as a compromise. They quickly fell in love with the Kimpton Canary Hotel's rooftop views as well as the hotel’s gorgeous interior. After the fact, the happy duo declares they couldn’t have asked for a better wedding location. “It suited us perfectly!” they rave.

Darcie got ready in the Canary suite she had stayed in, while Vince traveled to Santa Barbara around noon. The rooftop ceremony, which occurred on an unusually hot day, featured elements of wood and cement plus pops of color (pink and orange flowers).

Guests enjoyed rooftop cocktails after the ceremony and then went downstairs to the ballroom for dinner. Afterward, they came back up to the roof for dessert and dancing (with a view!).
